A preview should be honest software, not a trailer. Everything described here is in the build you can open from this site — so consider this post a checklist to hold against the product itself.

The room you work in

Kavvo opens on chat, with the orb at the centre and the live activity stream beside it. The orb carries the state of the work — idle, listening, thinking, speaking — and the header carries the truth of the session: connected provider and model, context in play, estimated cost. Threads keep their history; returning to Kavvo feels like returning to a desk where everything is where you left it.

Bring your own key, pick any model

Setup is one paste. Add a provider key and Kavvo fetches that provider's actual model list at that moment — no stale catalogue baked in at build time. Choose a model per conversation, or select Auto and let routing decide. Keys live with the install, calls go straight to the provider, and the only bill is the provider's.

Voice, properly

Tap the orb and speak. Kavvo listens to the end of your thought, thinks visibly, and answers aloud — and if you cut in, it stops and listens. Voice shares the thread, memory, and stream with typing, so a spoken briefing and a typed follow-up are one continuous piece of work.

The browser, memory, and the constitution

  • Browser: a real browser the agent drives for research and errands, with the option to attach to your own session when a task needs your logins.
  • Memory: projects, people, and preferences persist across sessions — ask what Kavvo remembers and it will tell you.
  • Constitution: a short, editable document you own that sets the rules memory and behaviour follow.
  • Privacy guardian: purge any topic from memory and receive a receipt of what was removed; outbound shares are scanned for secrets first.

Automations and background skills

The preview ships with the automation starters we use ourselves: a morning briefing, a weekly review, and one-time overnight delegation. Underneath them, the skill system is doing its quiet work — when your tasks need a new capability, Kavvo writes it, tests it, and keeps it in the background. Watch the activity stream during your first week; the moment a skill is born is the moment Kavvo stops feeling like a tool and starts feeling like staff.

What is not in the preview — yet

Two things are deliberately ahead of us. The public open-source release: v1 is being prepared for it, with the Windows bundle shipping at the same time. And the hosted cloud tier, which arrives later for people who would rather not run a server at all. Neither changes the deal: the app is free, the code will be open, and your keys remain yours.

The preview instance is linked below. Connect a key, give Kavvo a real errand, and check its work in the stream.
